Now come to the point :
About HIV.
HIV is
a virus spread through certain body fluids that attacks the body’s immune
system, specifically the CD4 cells, often called T cells. Over time, HIV can
destroy so many of these cells that the body can’t fight off infections and
disease. These special cells help the immune system fight off infections.
Untreated, HIV reduces the number of CD4 cells (T cells) in the body. This
damage to the immune system makes it harder and harder for the body to fight
off infections and some other diseases. Opportunistic infections or cancers
take advantage of a very weak immune system and signal that the person has
AIDS.
What is HIV? (HIV kya h?)
HIV is short for "human immunodeficiency
virus."
Who Gets
HIV?(HIV kise ho sakta h).
(ye kisi ko bhi ho sakta h) ,Anybody.
Kisi ko bhi HIV ho sakta h, HIV is a virus, once it gets
into your body, it makes you sick. No matter
if you are rich or poor; 14 years old or 70; black or white; gay or
straight; married or single. It's what you do, not who you are, that puts you at
risk for HIV.
How is HIV transmitted?(HIV kese falta h).
HIV can
be transmitted from an infected person to another through (Ye ek infected
person se dusre person ko hota h in karano se)
·
Blood (including menstrual blood)
·
Semen
·
Vaginal secretions
·
Breast milk
Blood contains the highest concentration of the
virus, followed by semen, followed by vaginal fluids, followed by breast milk.
The following "bodily
fluids" are NOT infectious:
·
Saliva
·
Tears
·
Sweat
·
Feces
·
Urine
Activities That Allow HIV Transmission
- Unprotected sexual contact.(bina condom sex krne se)
- Direct blood contact, particularly through sharing injection drug needles.(infected injection se drugs lete time )
- Infections due to blood transfusions.(infected blood se )
- Mother to baby (before or during birth, or through breast milk).(mom se baby ko breast feeding ke time ya birth ke time)
·
Anal sex is the
highest-risk sexual behavior. Also
receptive anal sex (bottoming) is riskier than insertive anal sex
(topping).
·
Vaginal sex is the
second-highest-risk sexual behavior.
·
Sharing needles or
syringes, rinse water, or other equipment (works) used to prepare drugs for
injection with someone who has HIV. HIV can live in a used needle up to 42 days
depending on temperature and other factors.
Less commonly, HIV may be spread.
·
From mother to child
during pregnancy, birth, or breastfeeding.
·
By being stuck with an
HIV-contaminated needle or other sharp object.
In extremely rare cases, HIV has been transmitted
by
·
Oral sex—putting the
mouth on the penis (fellatio), vagina (cunnilingus), or anus (rimming). In
general, there’s little to no risk of getting HIV from oral sex. But
transmission of HIV, though extremely rare, is theoretically possible if an
HIV-positive man ejaculates in his partner’s mouth during oral sex.
·
Eating food that has
been pre-chewed by an HIV-infected person. The contamination occurs when
infected blood from a caregiver’s mouth mixes with food while chewing. The only
known cases are among infants.
·
Being bitten by a person
with HIV. Each of the very small number of documented cases has involved severe
trauma with extensive tissue damage and the presence of blood..
·
Contact between broken
skin, wounds, or mucous membranes and HIV-infected blood or blood-contaminated
body fluids.
·
Deep, open-mouth kissing
if both partners have sores or bleeding gums and blood from the HIV-positive
partner gets into the bloodstream of the HIV-negative partner. HIV is not spread through saliva.
HIV KESE NAHI HOTA
HIV
does not survive long outside the human body (such as on surfaces), and it
cannot reproduce outside a human host. It is not spread by
·
Mosquitoes, ticks, or
other insects.
·
Saliva, tears, or sweat
that is not mixed with the blood of an HIV-positive person.
·
Hugging, shaking hands,
sharing toilets, sharing dishes, or closed-mouth or “social” kissing with
someone who is HIV-positive.
Can I get HIV from
ORAL SEX
The chance that an HIV-negative person will get HIV from oral sex
with an HIV-positive partner is extremely low.
Oral
sex involves putting the mouth on the penis (fellatio), vagina (cunnilingus),
or anus (anilingus). In general, there’s little to no risk of getting or
transmitting HIV through oral sex.
